If you don't already have it, make sure you get the free Michael's app. I got it (mostly for the coupons, I'll admit) but it has a really great "Projects" section which is where I found the idea for this craft. The best part of it, besides being super easy, is that it is really inexpensive so if you have several people to get Christmas gifts for, look no further! Also makes a great hostess gift!
**Quick note: please excuse the changes of paper throughout the photos. I was working on about 5 different sets of coasters simultaneously and I took pictures of different sets in different stages. I'm sure you'll get the drift, though.
Here's what you'll need for 1 set of 4 coasters:
one 12x12 sheet of Christmas scrapbooking paper
four 4-1/4 in. white square tiles
one 9x12 sheet of felt (in a color that coordinates with your paper)
Mod Podge
clear spray paint
a foam brush
hot glue gun
Measure and cut your paper into four 4 in. squares.
Using the foam brush, apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to one of the tiles.
Place one of the paper squares on top. Make sure it's centered.
Hold it in place for 30 seconds. Repeat with the other 3 tiles.
Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to each of the tiles again, this time on top of the paper squares.
Allow to dry (about 10-15 minutes).
Spray tiles with 3 coats of clear spray paint, waiting about 15 minutes in between.
After the last coat, allow to dry for 24 hours.
Cut the felt into four 4 in. squares and apply to back of tiles using hot glue gun.
Stack up coasters and tie with a sparkly ribbon.
Ta-Da!! Hope you give it a try!
